Pretty much what I expected. Corridors need a revamp - at first I thought we had turned into a staff only Service Corridor it was so gloomy and the decor so grim.

Breakfast was fantastic and I made sure this message got back to the kitchen. The location of the hotel was convenient for the motorway and for the sporting event (IronMan UK) in which I was participating.

Booking was nightmare. When I called up the day before I arrived to see if I could extend my stay to two nights, there seemed no record of me even staying one night even though I had booked 8 months earlier and paid in full! Fortunately the lady at your central reservations was very very helpful and eventually managed to track down which internet site I'd used to book and she sorted everything out. When I arrived at the hotel, there was a queue of people having similar issues - there just seemed a total lack of co-ordination between bookings made through different routes and the staff in the hotel caught the brunt of this.

Good clean room, with friendly staff, would stay again, very accessable tobolton where we visited friends. All amenities close at hand.

Pretty rubbish.

Comfortable bed

Bedroom lamp not working; phone not working; shaving light in bathroom not working; restaurant food of poor quality; waiting staff unable to explain how the evening menu system worked; bar staff needed to be called from reception to tend to the bar; outside and inside decor extremely shabby (paint flaking from facade); hotel employees audibly complaining about each other; when I arrived in the room, someone else's half-eaten oaten biscuit was still in its packet on the table and someone else's half-used shampoo was still in the soap dish in the shower.

Good size comfortable double room.

Cost of drinks in the hotel bar was too high.On-line booking requested non-smoking rooms. At check-in non-smoking rooms were again requested. My children were given a smoking room!
