Posted by paula (2009-08-26) although the hotel was comfortable and the staff standards high, due to points raised about the breakfast i would not choose to stay at this hotel again. i do not believe it was value for money. the staff were friendly and helpful. the room was adequate and clean as was the bathroom the quality of the breakfast was poor at 115 per room i expected to have my breakfast served to me on a hot plate instead i found cold plates and self service, upon asking for a coffee i was invited to help myself from the perculator. the window in my room was ill fitting and the noise from the very busy road kept me awake most of the night. |

Posted by Lisa (2009-08-25) I refer to our recent stay at Churchill's Hotel, Cardiff Rd, Cardiff on Sat 22nd August for one night. I would like to express my concerns as to how poor this expensive accommodation was. As we approached the block where our suite was, the stairwell smelled putrid and the stairs were covered from the ground to the top floor in what looked like spilt drink stains and the paintwork was dirty. When we entered our 'Suite' - number 36, I was appalled at the size of the place - it was tiny - and open plan and separated by a small wooden screen. Again the paintwork was filthy and inside the wardrobes smelt stale. The bathroom smelt damp and was not properly cleaned - especially the toilet. The beds were not at all comfortable - they were extremely hard. The Churchill's website says:' In addition we have a selection of Mews cottages and suites which offer exceptional space and comfort. ' We had to pay 150 for this suite (which is not cheap) and quite frankly for 150 I would have expected it to be clean, comfortable and spacious or as the website states: 'exceptional space and comfort' not the appalling state in which it was. I look forward to receiving your reply. I refer to our recent stay at Churchill's Hotel, Cardiff Rd, Cardiff on Sat 22nd August for one night. Posted by John (2009-08-25) Was ok but the bed was poor even squeaked when I breathed. The couple in the next room their's squeaked too. Was peed off that the bar closed so early on a Saturday night. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Short walk to the Stadium (20mins). Nice clean hotel, close the Millennium Stadium. Id been out to the Millennium Stadium, not had a drink allday and was shocked to find the hotel bar would not serve me a drink at 11:40pm on a Saturday night. The bed was really squeaky. |
