Posted by patricia (2009-08-25) a really disappointing, unsatisfactory stay. good breakfast. lighting in room really poor;i had to sit directly under the standard lamp to try to read the paper. dead insects in room...more than one species2 cases of unsafety in room...above mentioned standard lamp had cracked singed shade where the bulb was burning it, and the flex of the kettle was so short that we had to put the kettle on the floor whilst boiling it.my daughter had been very excited to be staying in a 4-poster bed but the curtains around it were false and we were disappointed. |

Friendly and accomodating staff. Booked online with Star Stay and when I arrived at the hotel the staff had no reservation for us and had not received a booking confirmation from Star Stay. The staff were accomodating and luckily there was a room available. Star Stay's booking system leaves a lot to be desired. Very poor overall. |

Posted by sue (2009-03-30) TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! None When we arrived to check in, the woman serving drinks at the bar was also the person doing check-in, so we had to wait until she'd served a large group of people having a meal, then she excused herself to deliver starters to a table in the restaurant, !!!! when some one has had a long journey to a hotel they DON'T expect to have to wait for this ammount of time to be checked in !!! The walls of the room were very thin, so we could hear people in next room using their on-suite facilities in the middle of the night, also we could hear people going up the stairs next to our room, and I wonder if there's ANY insulation in the timber walls. The en-suite was minute, we are relatively small sized people, any one larger would have had a real problem. The shower didn't work properly, running alternatively, freezing cold and dangerously HOT !!! Shortly after midnight, someone, arrived at the hotel and went up the stairs next to our room, he was EXTREMELY drunk, banging about and attempting to sing, this went on for at least 10 mins, after which time I called reception, which was engaged, when I did get through, the woman said the people next door had already rung to complain, and the police were on their way. The next morning when I was checking out, the woman said that it had been a random drunken man that nobody knew, who had just turned up at the hotel. As the hotel was in the middle of nowhere and the man in question had no vehicle, I'm really not sure I believe this, on further questioning she said that ' other ' people were involved, I'm not sure what she meant by that. It was an awful nights stay in the hotel, and I would like a FUll refund please !!!!!!!! Sue Moorhouse |
