I think the hotel is too busy servicing functions to pay attention to the individual guest. We were not told about the dress code for the restaurant when we booked and it could have been embarrassing.

It is a very beautiful building in a lovely setting. On the surface it looks splendid.

We were booked into a small cottage in the grounds with two tiny bedrooms with another couple who we did not know. This is clearly standard practice and a terrible idea. It would be fine with friends or family but it was much too intimate a space with strangers. It is a lot of money to pay to feel so awkward. We would never book in again in case we were put in the same accommodation. The room was very small and in urgent need of a facelift. The meal in the restaurant was expensive and poorly cooked. Big presentation, terrible substance which rather characterizes the entire establishment.

Our room was rather noisy due to an air conditioning vent outside the window, it was also very hot in the room, which meant we had the window open which exacerbated the noise issue

I had a great time, I was there for a wedding of a good friend, I got a last minute booking at a reduced rate. We'd left our kids at home! It was so lovely to be in such beautiful surroundings. Although I wasn't the bride, I felt as though I was on honeymoon!

I really liked the cottage experience, in particular I loved the big bathroom which was so well lit. I enjoyed swimming in the heated outdoor pool tghe next morning. I also was struck by the professionalism of the staff, they were good at their jobs.

I got confused on the way in as to where the reception was and then confused as to where the cottage was - even clearer signage for wally's like me would be useful,

Excellent in all areas of service, food and cleanliness.

As a returning customer the hotel held up its high standards of comfort and freindliness. A special place to stay.

Although the room was great by normal standards, I have hed far nicer rooms on previous occassions.
