Excellent food and friendly environment. The staff were extremely helpful.Beautiful old building in a good location for visiting attractions in the area.

The rooms would benefit from modernising or re-decorating although the room was spacious and comfortable with good facilities.

Very disappointing - I had booked the hotel as a treat for me and my partner - we would have been better off staying in a B & B! The response of the staff to our complaints was appalling - I expected them to apologise and ask what could they could do to make up for our poor experience - a response you would expect anywhere in the hospitality business but they were not interested.

Unable to have bath due to trickle of water out of tap; main meal in hotel restaurant was inedible; waitress was rude; when we complained at the end of our stay - the receptionist was rude, disinterested and didn't offer any recompense. Unfortunately, I also left an expensive set of hair straighteners in the room and when we telephoned the hotel - they denied all knowledge of them.

We enjoyed our stay. A wonderful building which could benefit from some careful investment.

Friendly atmosphere. Good sized,comfortable bedroom. Good food. Quirky.

Staff not always available for bar etc.Hot water runs out at busy times.

Location was perfect for me and I did get a good nights rest with was essential due to the event I was taking part in the following day.

The staff are very friendly and accommodating

The shower was not very good and did not deliver hot water. The hotel looks lovely from the outside but is quite dated on the inside. Nothing that a re-vamp wouldn't sort out.

Funny place with overblown Victorian decor and quirky layout. Nice grounds. Would stay again but definitely NOT have dinner there. [There are plenty of places in town - eg R.Spice]

Friendliness and helpfulness of Staff. Conveniently located. Reception and Staff excellent. Breakfasts excellent.

Dinner poor. Small portions, overcooked and in the case of one dish 'risotto' rated inedible - Chef accepted complaint personally but no refund was offered. [NOTE: completed hotel comment form with similar comments and ratings]
