The lady who runs the hotel had no booking for us and we were literally kicked out as she argued that we had no right to be there and that we were ineffect breaking and entering even though i had a booking ref no and confirmation direct from her on the 21st oct 2008 she was horrible she had obviously double booked and did not know how to get out of it

Shower should have more water pressure.

The accommodation we needed (twins en suite) was difficult to find in the area at the price we were willing to pay, so we were glad to find Nethermains but we stayed other places that were much nicer for a similar rate.

Pleasant surroundings, comfortable bed, good hot water, very convenient for where we were going the next day- the Arran Ferry

There was a smoking room and the door was not kept closed so we could smell the smoke in our rooms as well as through the house. The directions to the house could have been better- you had to go round a roundabout and return the way you came for a mile or so and take a road signposted Kilwinning then the house was immediately on the right. There was no B&B sign. Breakfast was just okay and it was served reluctantly. The showers didn't drain away well so you were standing in water and it looked as if the tray would overflow if you stayed too long.

Would happily stay there again. The owner was really nice.

Very friendly welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely breakfast made to order.

Just a minor point, but the shower water did not drain away very quickly in the ensuite attached to the double bedroom on the ground floor. I forgot to tell the owner as we were rushing to leave for the wedding.
