Posted by Deborah (2008-07-08) we are generally happy with our stay as we don't consider the bad points to be major problems, but you did ask for our feedback! The building and grounds were very impressive and the staff were extremely helpful and courteous. We enjoyed the pool and sauna. We enjoy a game of tennis but the courts were totally neglected and really unplayable. Until some serious money is spent on them you should not advertise the fact that you have tennis facilities. Our room (205), although tidy and generally clean looked rather tired, especially the bathroom which had a sticking door which also desperately needed filling and painting along with the door frame. Some floor tiles were cracked and the sealant behind the sink is badly applied and therefore encouraging mildue to thrive. |

Posted by Joanna (2008-04-30) Check-in was a little slow. The only person on the front desk was the porter who was not authorised to check people in so we had to wait for the receptionist. There was no-one around for 10 minutes when I wanted to order tea in the conservatory/bar area and I had to place my order through the main reception but after another 15 minutes, a waiter asked me if I would like anything and my order clearly had not been passed on.Dinner was slow. We waited 15 minutes for our wine and our complimentary appetiser arrived first so we chased up our wine. We also waited far too long in between our starter and main course (a good 20-30 mins). The food was extremely good both at dinner and the next morning at breakfast. We felt that the grounds needed a little tidying up - there were bushes and shrubs that were dead and a very funny and potentially dangerous bit of pateo outside the pool. Able to relax in the surroundings/gardens of the hotel, spa was adequate and the weather helped as it was a lovely hot day Our room was very hot, not helped by the radiator being on in the bathroom. There was a fan in the room which we used and was adequate. |
