Posted by Brian (2009-08-14) Overall, however, the good value for money meant that we will return. Excellent value for moneyreceptionist at check in excellent Upart from the cook who came out to talk to the guests the rest of the breakfast team were miserable and we had to ask for more fried eggs, more crockery etc |

Posted by Zoe (2008-10-28) hotel was shabby and had obviously seen better days, illustrated by the photos on the leaflets in the foyer. location was good staff were slow and surly. Room was equipped with two ends of toilet paper rolls and a bizarre shower that leaked from the overflow. Fire alarm on ceiling was covered with a tesco carrier bag |

Posted by Anonymous (2008-10-28) I wasn't disappointed and I wasn't overly happy with our stay at the Britannia. It was clean, and the rooms were adequate and had everything that was needed. The breakfast was fantastic and well stocked. The reception area and staff were very unhelpful and very unwelcoming which is unexpected in this type of environment. I was not pleased and it was not a positive experience. |

Posted by Anonymous (2008-06-11) Overall, a disappointing experience. and poor value for the minimal service supplied. Barely three star in my view. The room was clean. The buffet breakfast was good, but expensive compared to local cafes. I asked for a smoking room. But no ashtray was supplied. I asked the desk to supply one on two occasions and was assured one would be sent up. It never was. One of the two lifts was out of order. It took between 10 and 15 minutes to get to breakfast and return, and to check out when many people were on the move. Many guests were complaining about this. The Receptionist was very off-hand about this situation and seemed to be immune to the complaints from guests. The soap and shampoo provided were inadequate if one wished to bathe morning and evening. One bath towel only was supplied. I was very disappointed to find that no Sky TV was provided - in particular there was no Sky sports chanel. It would be better to drop the "adult" porn chanels and provide Sky instead! The room itself was lit only by the bedside light. The room was of adequate size but there was nowhere to place a suitcase other than on the unused side of the bed. |
