I hate Essex, in fact...
Liked: Great staff. Couldn't be better - the food was great and the hotel warm and comfortable.
Disliked: One tip don't take big suitcases as the corridors are quite small and trying to carry them up the stairs can be a bit of a problem.

Liked: The Camelia had made an instant impression as I walked up the steps. Alongside was a disable access ramp.The decor was clean and inviting. The male evening receptionist phoned me as I was on my way - a courtesy call to make sure that I wasn?t lost. He kindly directed me to the location of the car park. On checking in he was professional polite and helpful. I think my room (29) must have been designed by a woman (lol). There was a dressing table mirror and a full length mirror - both with accessible power sockets ( for hair dryer, tongs etc) There were 4 double sockets in the room, so I could plug in my phone and iPad chargers. Extremely impressed! The hot drink making facilities had more than the usual selection, plus biscuits. The room was exceptionally clean along with the bathroom. Cannot fault it in any way. 10 out of 10. Would go out of my way to stay there again if I visited the area - even within a 5 mile radius.I didn?t have breakfast but hopefully it was of the same standard as the rooms.
Disliked: Absolutely nothing

The good, the bad, the...
Liked: Great location, comfy rooms - (perhaps in need of slight upgrading) friendly staff and decent breakfast options.
Disliked: The lack of staff at times. An early checkout was requested, but no note was taken of this request which inadvertently delayed leave time.The rooms were not as advertised, perhaps they are on the to-do list in terms of upgrading / modernising.
