Nice, Relaxing Stay
Liked: The room we stayed in was a superior room:
- Had bathrobes, slippers and complimentary soft drinks and snacks mini bar!
- Nice bathroom
- Huge Bed
- Very Clean
-Plenty of Parking
- Swimming Pool and Spa facilities are clean and well attended
Disliked: - The hotel is located on a main road, so the traffic noise can put people off. - Food in the hotel is a little on the pricey side - but similar to other hotels in the area.

Disliked: Noise from Wedding Disco kept us awake until 1am. Did phone Reception who offered us complimentary ear plugs but would have prefered a room away from the Function Room.

Great stay, very relaxing and...
Liked: The breakfasts and the leisure facilities.
Disliked: Mattress beginning to be a little worn but this may a matter of personal preference more than anything else. Batteries on remote might have been going flat but had I mentioned it, I am sure they would have been replaced.

Superb hotel 10/10
Liked: An amazing structure of a building the moment you walk in. Fantastic sitting and relaxing area and small bar. Brilliant restaurant dinner and breakfast. Overall we loved the sauna/steam room and jacuzzi pool and would stay here again definitely.
Disliked: Nothing at all and if I had to say something negative it would only be that I didn't stay for 2 nights .

Average, with a side of...
Liked: Choice at breakfast and complimentary tea, water, Pepsi & KitKat.
Disliked: This is NOT a spa hotel. Just like the (terrible) Ibis Chesterfield I checked in to (then immediately out of again), Hallmark Mickleover have spent all of the budget on the lobby. Very 80s cruise ship vibe, but pleasant enough but as seems to be the case in a lot of UK hotels, average is consider the aim. As long as it?s not awful, we should get away with it. We provide a room and a bed?what more do you want??Leisure facilities are run by a separate company that sell memberships to locals, meaning it can get busy and feels confused. Gym members are trying to do their usual aqua aerobics class whilst contending with hotel guests trying to have a relaxing swim as part of their break, with those of us that saw this hotel listed as a ?spa hotel? have to deal with children with inflatable toys heading in to the pool at home 9pm (we thought we?d get a quiet spell during the last hour of the day), because as hotel guests too, they?re fine to use it. I?m certain I read that this was newly renovated?it?s not. Starting to look tired and I highly doubt anything will be done about it until they?ve wrung every last penny out of it and are forced to upgrade only once tiles are literally falling off the walls. The breakfast area is ideal and expected of a hotel for this purpose, but is the very same room touted as The Brasserie and talked up as a place of local demand. It?s not. It?s a bog-standard hotel dining room with dated furniture. Not a single thing in there hints at restaurant, fine-dining or even average dining. Tables in a room does not a restaurant make!We booked through Booking.com at £158 for two nights with breakfast and use of leisure facilities which we thought was the right price-point. Booking direct with the hotel would have been double that, which would have been an outrage.Rooms were cold on entry and portable electric/oil heaters provided because the roomstats I don?t think work (nor did our heated towel rail).

We didn't eat at the hotel.
