Liked: Excellent hotel should we revisit Birmingham; we will definitely book again and recommend this to our friends.

Alan, Peterborough, visiting NIA Academy Mon, 16 December 2013

Helpful and pleasant staff. Hotel in a close location to the city centre and the NIA. Beds were very comfortable; we will return on our next visit to Birmingham.

Liked: Great location; quiet room.
Disliked: Breakfast was slow on refills of scrambled egg.

Charmain, Bedford, visiting Symphony Hall Birmingham Tue, 17 September 2013

Overall this met our need: for a clean comfortable hotel near to Symphony Hall, which it certainly was. However, the breakfast was really disappointing and was not good quality. The breakfast area was more like a canteen and seating was limited. Staff were friendly.

Liked: Very clean; room was lovely; excellent quality; fantastic shower.
Disliked: The breakfast area is really cluttered and is not suited for a relaxing breakfast. The scrambled eggs were not real eggs, they were awful. No instructions on the hot drink machine or microwave which led to delays and the staff having to repeat instructions over and over again. Long queue to check in.

Enjoyed my stay here, and would happily stop here again if I was staying in Birmingham.

Liked: Comfortable, everything you need.
Disliked: A few loose fixtures (like a light bulb). Nothing major - were easily sorted myself.

Good value for money. Would...

Liked: Great location. Clean refurbished rooms. Nice breakfast with good choice. Convenient onsite parking.
Disliked: We booked on the day and our room was directly opposite the lifts so a little noisy.

Great short break in Hampton...

Liked: Easy check-in. Staff very helpful - At our request they changed our room from twin to double - it was an accessible room which was all they had left which was fine by us. Had good sleep - comfortable matress and no external noise. Good for security as can only access hotel entrance at night with your room key card Plenty of choice of food for breakfast to suit people Location good only 15-20 minute walk from New Street railway station/ shopping centre. Taxis passing nearby if needed. Only a short walk to the canals. Plenty of bars/restaurants nearby and at a reasonable price.
Disliked: Better organisation at breakfast - maybe someone to show people to table once cleaned especially at busy times rather than people wandering looking for a free table. It might only mean a short wait but could improve the smooth running of the restaurant. Walk-in shower curtain didn't fit all around - some hooks missing/joined together which meant that some water spread over bathroom floor through the end gap rather than being contained within shower curtain. Just replacing the missing/ broken hooks would resolve this

We enjoyed our stay and...

Liked: It's location good range of places to eat and drink nearby and not too far to walk to the centre
Disliked: The room needed decorating. The sink tap seemed in the wrong place so water ran around top of basin making wash bag wet.

Liked: Rooms and hotel in general very clean and modern. Staff very attentive and friendly. All our needs were met. Staff went above and beyond, even lending a phone charger during our stay. Night staff (Sunny) made us feel very safe and looked after during our stay. Amazing location. Breakfast was great a lot of choice and good quality. Waffle maker was very fun.
Disliked: I don?t have any negatives with my stay. All went perfectly.

Comfortable room, but location is...

Liked: The room was clean an comfortable. We asked for an extra duvet which was brought straight away. They had some gluten free products available for breakfast.
Disliked: The communal areas were tired and the men's toilets and the lifts were not clean on the Sunday morning. The trays to use for breakfast were sticky. I did not sleep very well as although we were on the 12th floor I could still hear music from a nearby nightclub until 4 o'clock in the morning. I mentioned this at checkout when we were asked how we slept and the receptionist just said oh dear. I would not stop here again because of this.
