By car: - Take the A386 to Yelverton roundabout and exit for Tavistock. After 200 yards look for a brown sign on the left-hand side. - Continue down Grange Road and turn right at the T-junction. The hotel is 300 yards further on the left-hand side after the road narrows. For Sat Nav, the postcode is PL20 6EA. By bus: - There is a bus stop at the top of the road in the village. There is a good, reliable service from Plymouth, Tavistock and Exeter. - You will then have to walk down Harrowbeer Lane (2 minutes down and 7 minutes up) or call us to collect you. By rail: Plymouth main line station is 20 minutes away by car and has a regular service for London and Truro. By taxi: there are several taxi services that we will give you details for, or book for you. There is also a taxi service at Plymouth railway station. Plymouth Airport is 10 minutes away by car, offering regular services to all parts of the country. By bicyle: there is the N27 Sustrans National Cycle Network. Cycle route 2, link routes, Plym Valley Cycle Track and The Granite Way cycle routes are all close by. Cycle hire can be arranged. The bike bus service is available through Dartmoor National Parks. We offer a safe place for bicycles and gear.

Hotel Information

The Harrabeer is run and managed by us, Michael and Amanda Willats: we aim to be as flexible as possible, to make your stay just the way you would like it. We will cater for most dietary requirements, so please advise us of this. If you have an occasion to celebrate, please let us know and we will arrange any special ideas that you wish for, such as flowers. We will endeavour to give you personal service at all times. We are now able to offer you a beauty therapy massage. Please contact us to arrange an appointment. Massages are available from 12:00 on Monday or from 17:45, Tuesday to Friday. Weekends are negotiable. 24 hours notice is required. We are a Wi-Fi hotspot and you can use these facilities free of charge in our bar and in a couple of the bedrooms. We do not guarantee connection. The opportunities for all kinds of sporting activities are endless whether you enjoy water sports, strenuous walking, rock climbing, or something a little more leisurely, we will be able to arrange it for you.

At the Harrabeer Country House, you can treat yourself to a stay in the master bedroom, a large, beautifully appointed en suite room overlooking Dartmoor, with a variety of added extras. Alternatively, there are 5 very comfortable standard rooms (with twin or double beds). All include either en suite or private bathrooms and feature a range of convenient amenities. One room even boasts a beautiful Victorian double bed! From time to time, self-catering suites are also available - keep checking for availability.

Area Information

Nearby interesting places to visit include the Garden House and Eden Project. Our lovely ancient stannary town with pannier market, Tavistock, (winner of this year's Market Town of the Year award) is only 5 miles away. The small town of Yelverton is situated within the Dartmoor National Park and is ideally placed for exploring and touring the West Country. The immediate area offers beautiful walks across the moorland, where wild ponies are a delightful feature. There are opportunities for golf, riding and fishing all within easy reach. There is a wealth of National Trust properties nearby including Sir Francis Drake's home. Buckland Abbey and the naval city of Plymouth is less than 9 miles away, with its theatres, restaurants and leisure facilities. We have an extensive display of literature for things to do including gardens, Yelverton Paperweight Centre and Morwellham Quay.

At time of booking, please advise whether you would like a double or twin bed (subject to room type); your estimated time of arrival; and whether you would like evening meals (not possible on Sundays). For bookings of 3 rooms or more, Harrabeer will apply different payment and cancellation policies.

Hotel Policies

POLICIES: Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first two nights will be charged. Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome. All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots. All further children from 2 to 10 years are charged GBP 15.00 per night for extra beds. Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1. Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged. VAT and city/tourist taxes: 17.5 % VAT is included. Service charge is not applicable. City/tourist tax is not applicable. Internet: Wireless Internet Hotspot is available in some hotel rooms and is free of charge. Meal Plan: Full English breakfast is included in the room rate. Parking: Free public parking is possible on site. Pets: Pets are allowed on request. No extra charges. The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise credit cards prior to arrival.
