Comfortable pleasant hotel

Liked: Good restaurant if a little bland and pricey. Good breakfast. Very clean.
Disliked: Only one lift (old building), no lift to 5th floor, slightly odd location, but within five mins? walk of railway station.

Disappointed, won?t stay again.

Liked: It was in a perfect place for us.
Disliked: When we arrive the receptionsst was humourless, not friendly or welcoming. She was functional and more like a Doctors receptionist rather than a hotel. The room was beyond tiny. Very badly altered. It was in need of a refurb. The room had no heating controls, so it was either to hot or to cold and you could do nothing about it. The twindows were filthy. The main areas in the public areas look really lovely. However the bedroom lacked the same feel, or even sense of interior design.

We were disappointed with the...

Liked: The staff were very friendly & courteous. The building has some very well preserved original features such as stained glass windows, staircase, external façade. The breakfast was good. plenty of choice.
Disliked: We had a 'privilege' room. The room was of a poor standard. It was cold - the heating (one radiator was not enough for the size of the room). We informed the staff at the time. There was a fusty smell in the room, emanating from the bathroom. We won't be staying there again.

Clean and friendly staff but...

Liked: The room was clean and spacious. The hotel inside was nicely presented and felt professional.
Disliked: The room walls were very thin or seemed it. I struggled to have a good nights sleep due to noise from above and another customer having their tv on. All conversations could be heard. In the morning the breakfast looked good, but the food was luke warm not hot, I had no milk with my tea or sugar. When I asked for milk and sugar, the milk came but the sugar didn?t. The breakfast was £11 and given that it wasn?t that hot I think this was overpriced. On check out I wasn?t asked about my stay just whether I needed a receipt.
