Liked: Near to Southampton City Centre
Disliked: At first we were put in a room in the out-house part of the hotel (I think it was room number 37?). Talk about 'not enough room to swing a cat'!! We both had normal sized suitcases, which we had to put on the floor to open them up, as there was nowhere else to put them otherwise (except on the bed). The room was so small that it was impossible to open up BOTH suitcases at the same time! Also, the size of the bed itself was just a little bit larger than that of a single bed. I complained at reception and said I wasn't willing to pay the price they were asking for that particular room. We were moved to a room on the first floor which was a normal bedroom size but in comparison to the previous room, was massive!! In the end, we were satisfied with this room and the way we were treated at reception. Thanks!

Liked: The staff were nice, the room a good size, bed was comfortable, two armchairs, good bathroom, great location right on high street, own car park.
Disliked: Only one thing, the car park, was full when we got there, staff could only suggest the multi storey car park nearby,,,as we went to move car, a space became available

Comfortable with location but very...

Liked: Good size rooms, stayed in the Privilege Rooms which was furnished with Refrigerator filled with soft drinks and water, All toiletries that one could potentially need were placed. The room also had an expresso coffee machine and newspaper. Beds was comfortable. Location is excellent. Being on the high street you have access to many restaurants and pubs.
Disliked: Old building converted into a Hotel, so its not comparable to the modern builds. The rooms are on different levels, and access to the rooms may not be very pleasant as it is a mix of both lift and stairs. Being on the High Street and in front of a pub it was very noisy until late in the night (1AM or so). The room was hot but couldn't open the windows due to noise.

Superb location with friendly staff.

Liked: Friendly staff, a nice breakfast and a great location. Check in was easy, which was great as we arrived late at night with two tired kids. We also liked the historical aspect of the hotel.
Disliked: Small beds, but maybe this is an English thing?
