Perfect location, excellent hosts.
Liked: A bonus that we were upgraded. The staff were very good and very easy to approach. A real asset
Disliked: The hotel does need a bit of decoration, but I daresay this was reflected in the price.

Very cosy, good breakfast, friendly...
Liked: Lovely hotel, decorated for Christmas! Very cosy and staff were friendly, cooked breakfast was amazing! We didn?t ask for a balcony room but had one which was very nice.
Bed was comfy, slept well, very warm and cosy, will definitely stay here again.
Disliked: Could do with a lick of paint and some redecoration but did not affect anything.

Good value for off-season, last...
Liked: We arrived late evening but providing us with a Bar Meal and booking a Breakfast was no trouble at all for the Reception staff....Comfortable beds and nice, warm room.. Sea view !!...Delicious meals with generous portions.........Many thanks to you all !!
Disliked: The name of the Hotel is only visible to those road users going downhill-----We arrived late on a dark evening and in an uphill direction....The SATNAV was very accurate having stopped us right outside the Hotel however---- we didn't know this until we took a short walk around and found the name to be on the wall but behind us and quite high up !!....... The lift could do with a general overhaul ... Limited parking...

Great hotel, friendly staff, clean...
Liked: The sea view from room 34 was lovely, looking out across the seafront, on a warm summers day sitting on the balcony would be lovely. The beds were comfy and the bedding nice and clean and remade every day. Also extra toilet rolls and tea/coffee and sugar topped up every morning too.
We would definately return to this hotel again sometime, and would love to stay in room 34 with the lovely sea view. Thanks for a lovely stay at Hotel Richmond.
Disliked: Was a little disappointed with the evening meal, whilst at breakfast we noticed it said there was Chefs Traditional Roast, consisting of beef, yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables, we enquired at the reception and was asked to wait to find out whether they could do as no other guest were having evening meal, we were told it was ok and we paid £9.95 each four the meals upfront. Later in the afternoon we had a knock on our door and it was one of the porters saying the chef had told him that the beef was off and there was only pork would we be ok with that to which my partner and i said yes, we had arranged to go to the restaurant for 6pm. We went down at 5.55pm to find the restaurant in complete darkness and no one around so went to reception who said we could eat down in the restaurant or in the bar because no one else was having an evening meal, so we felt it would be easier to have in the bar. Our meals were brought up and put in front of us, the young lad said sorry the chef said it wasnt pork it was only gammon, so we didnt really have much choice as it had already been dished up then. The portion size wasnt the biggest, we had about 4/5 small new potatoes because they didnt have roast potatoes,2 small pieces of gammon and a spoonful of pea and same of carrots with some gravy, whilst this was enough for me my partner was still hungry so later when we went out he bought himself some extra food to eat. For the price of the evening meal, we felt that there should have been bigger portions and a yorkshire pudding too!! Also whilst the room was lovely and we had no problems with it, due to the windy wet weather on Saturday, the room was really drafty from the ill fitting patio door, so drafty the curtains were blowing back and forwards. Despite this we would definatelly return again, and still have room 34 just for the sea view and spacious room. Thanks for a lovely stay.
