A very friendly Pub based...
Liked: Very friendly staff and owner. Both dinner and Breakfast were very good and they were serving local beers (samples were offered to try before choosing). Location is good (for Headcorn) and very quiet. Good size car park. Would stay there again.
Disliked: Nothing significant

Overnight at The Hawkenbury
Liked: The evening food was good value for the price.
Disliked: The smell from the cesspit tank was off putting. The mattress was so soft you rolled towards the middle of the mattress.

Liked: This is a lovely old pub where the locals meet for a quiet drink. Father and son are friendly hosts who were happy to make our stay comfortable. It was pizza night and we enjoyed our evening and the pizza. Quiet location. Bathroom a good size and the room tastefully decorated. On a warm evening there is a nice terrace, overlooking a grassed beer garden, in front of the guest rooms to relax.
Disliked: The room was part of a small row of cabins behind the hotel rather than in the charming old building. While small it was comfortable and had everything you would expect. However it also had the smell of dogs which, while not too strong, does suggest that previous guests are allowed to have pets sharing their room.
