Looking out to sea over Broadstairs’ Viking Bay, the Royal Albion has a magnificent location, on the seafront, yet also close to the heart of the town.
The Royal Albion was originally built in 1760 and Charles Dickens was a regular visitor. The famous Bleak House, Dickens’ home in Broadstairs, is within sight.
The rear gardens lead out onto the town’s seafront promenade, with direct access to the sandy beaches.

There is plenty to see and do in Broadstairs and the surrounding area, whether you are interested in history, walking and sports or just looking for a quiet, relaxing seaside holiday. Broadstairs is steeped in history. The famous Bleak House, home of Charles Dickens, is within sight of the Royal Albion. The fascinating, historic city of Canterbury is within easy driving distance, as are the towns of Sandwich, Deal and Whitstable. There are 3 18-hole and 2 9-hole golf courses within driving distance of the hotel. During the summer Broadstairs benefits from free entertainment for all ages, including concerts, guided walks and stunning firework displays. June sees the Dickens Festival, celebrating the town’s connections with Charles Dickens. August has folk week, the busiest week of the year, as well as the International Sailing Week with neighbouring Ramsgate.
