Ideal place for a weekend...
Liked: Lovely comfy bed; quirky sloping floors; buzzy, busy atmosphere in the bar - you'll need to book a table, certainly on busy weekends.
Disliked: Some noise coming up from restaurant during opening hours, though perfectly quiet during the night. Very steep staircase may be a challenge for some.

Well worth it
Liked: Gluten free!! The menu here for gluten free people is amazing! The fish and chips are fabulous and try the gf eggy bread with bacon and maple syrup.. Could not get enough!
The pub was warm and welcoming, perfect after a winter walk, and the staff were more than accommodating and the room wonderful, lovely view.
Disliked: A worker talking loud on his phone in the morning.. It was his day off apparently, but the other staff were fab and couldn't be better.

Liked: The pub downstairs
Disliked: Manager did not check or reply to our email requesting a table for dinner which was sent ten days before our visit. We had to phone to make booking was told he never looks at his emails! Dreadful bed, cold dreary room, frayed curtains, bed head not fixed to wall and dusty, no where to sit apart from on the bed, bathroom ceiling had brown seepage stain and virtually no paint, toilet difficult to flush. This was our fifth visit to this inn but it is most definitely our last - not at all impressed.

Absolutely incredible. Definitely will stay...
Liked: The bed was incredible!! Extremely comfy, potentially the best bed I have ever slept in. Breakfast was also very, very good.

Pleasant accommodation and staff, plus...
Liked: The age and character of the building adds to its charm. The location for Blenheim Palace was excellent and the frequency of the buses makes it excellent for access to Oxford.
Disliked: The staircase is not suitable for anyone with any degree of mobility issues.
