By car: From the M8 or M9: - Exit either motorway for Forth Road Bridge (the A90). - Continue, following signs for the A90. - Proceed across the bridge and through to the M90. - Exit the M90 by following signs for the A92. - Continue on the A92. You will cross 7 roundabouts. - At the 8th roundabout (near Woodhaven), take the 3rd exit towards the A914. - Take the 2nd left and head towards the B945. - Turn right and Vicarsford is approximately 1 km down the road. Parking: Off-road parking is available at the hotel, free of charge. By train (from Leuchars Railway Station (3.5 miles, 5.5 km): Exit the station and catch the number 72 bus (towards Ninewells) and ask to get off halfway up the A945, near Vicarsford.

Area Information

Tentsmuir Forest (2 miles / 3.5 km) - a national nature reserve, Tentsmuir is an extensive 3,700 acre pine forest planted on the sand dunes at the mouth of the River Tay. There is a wide variety of plants, wildlife and architectural heritage. Discovery Point (6 miles / 10 km) - moored in nearby Dundee, Captain Scott's famous ship, the RRS Discovery was launched in 1901 on an epic Antartic journey. Discovery was one of the last wooden three-masted ships to be built in Britain and the first to be constructed specifically for scientific research. St. Andrews (9 miles / 14.5 km) - situated on the North Sea coast, the so-called 'home of golf' is the most frequent venue for The Open Championship; and also boasts an impressive array of historic architecture.
