Named after the eighteenth century essayist and bon viveur Arthur Hort, who was born on Broad Street in Bristol, Horts is a chichi neighbourhood brasserie serving up a classic and contemporary Euro menu. The restaurant – with pale pink walls, plush velvet armchairs and flock wallpaper – is bright and buzzy, and the venue also boasts pool tables and hosts regular poker nights. The cooking at Horts is homely and confident and the restaurant's signature dishes include the steak and ale pie with leeks, peas and mash; the baked cod served with green beans, sliced new potatoes and tomato salsa; and a selection of puddings which include favourites such as Eton Mess.
