Lovely staff, everyone we spoke to was lovely! Really enjoyed the evening - very handy to get to. Lot's of surrounding restaurants to grab a meal before/after the show.

Pros: Lots of bar areas, so you're not queueing all night.
Cons: People moving about during the performance (not venue's fault).

Went to see Kate Bush and despite technical issues, had a truly memorable night. The venue was superb and the show likewise. Would definitely visit the Apollo again for other events.

Pros: Quick and efficient entrance - no queues, always a plus. Atmosphere was 'buzzing'.

We saw Kate Bush here. The capacity crowd was almost as amazing as the show itself. Friendly bar and security staff. We supposedly had 'restricted view' seats, but could see fine. Sound and lighting were fantastic. Will definitely come again.

Pros: Brilliant atmosphere.
Cons: None.

Thoroughly enjoyed the venue and the show; the staff were friendly and welcoming and it was very organised.

Pros: Very nice venue; great acoustics and air conditioned perfectly.
Cons: Drinks are costly, 10.60 for 2 bottles of cider.

We went to the Elvis on Stage tour and we had a very enjoyable time. The atmosphere was very good inside as it is a nice sized venue. The toilets were better than I was expecting after a review I read earlier. Don't know about the prices for drinks as we didn't bother but I guess they would not be any dearer than most places in London. The seats were quite comfortable and more room in between rows than I was expecting. Overall very good experience and we would recommend.

Pros: Good atmosphere; easy to get to from subway. The staff were friendly and helpful.

In the middle of the concert I was asked to leave the show because I was carrying a camera: 1) there were hundreds of people inside with cameras, but security had an objection with only me as they felt my camera is bigger than others 2) There wasn't any mention on the ticket that cameras are not allowed 3) I said that I was happy to keep the camera in a cloakroom or power it off and hand over the batteries until the show was over, but staff did not accept anything less than formatting of the camera chip. 4) Worst of all, I was not even allowed to stand and wait in the bar area to wait for my family. I fail to understand what these guards were trying to protect: How can a camera be a security threat to remaining people, especially when no one has complaints. If they were trying to avoid piracy (I made it clear that its a still camera and not video), what harm was there in letting me stand in the bar area or put the camera in the cloakroom. Funniest thing is that the performer did not at all mind me taking pictures and after the show he got a picture clicked with me.

Pros: It's location.
Cons: Rude and unreasonable security staff; uncomfortable seats; poor audio system for music concerts; pathetic bar.

Old looking yet comfortable theatre. Some staff are a little miserable. Food & Drink expensive as expected. Easy to get to via bus / tube and easy walking using the zebra crossings.. View from all seats are good. Feels like your close to the stage from pretty much most seats.. Warning DO NOT EAT AT THE SPANISH TAPAS BAR NEXT DOOR!

Pros: Price
Cons: Price of drinks & food

I have been to the Apollo many times for a veriety of different concerts or to see comedians. Access is easy, there is a clearly signposted cloakroom for coats and the bar area is fairly big with a couple of areas to be served BEFORE you go into the main standing area. The standing area is sloped so that, even when short like me, by standing fairly near the back - you can still get a decent view. Given the size of the venue, you would think there would be a bit of a problem getting out at the end, but it seems to be effortless with no real crushes of people - something I have experienced elsewhere. Access to the venue is easy and there are some great restaurants nearby for a bite to eat first. After the Astoria going, this is now my favourite London venue.

Pros: Great size venue
Cons: It can be difficult crossing the road to get to it

The thing I love about Hammersmith Apollo is it's size with a capacity of around 8,000 it's so much more intimate than the likes of the O2 or the MEN yet still manages to attract the big names!

Pros: Intimate Venue
Cons: Sometimes big queues at the bar

Overall I thought the Hammersmith Apollo was great. Ideally situated and easy to get to by tube. I was seated in the front balcony section which meant my view was brilliant! About half way through the gig I was getting hungry but could not find anywhere to get proper food - wish I had grabbed something beforehand!

Pros: Front balcony seating excellent
Cons: Lack of food in the Apollo
