Value for money
Liked: The location was excellent as was value for money. Surprisingly quiet hotel considering the busy location. I would stay there again.
Disliked: I was fortunate that it was not too hot while I was staying there as there was no aircon and it was a little noisey with the window open. Also there was no top sheet on the bed so it was too hot with the duvet and cold without. Small cleanliness problems in the corners but overall ok.

If your only looking for...
Liked: The beds were comfortable and clean, the room was kept clean, breakfast was lovely. We were able to look beyond the room needing to be gutted, we got a comfy sleep and that's all we needed.
Disliked: The room was very tired, some wallpaper was ripped. The room and bathroom need to be full refurbished/gutted. The tv only had 6 channels although sometimes we could only get 4, but we weren't there to watch tv so that was ok.

Liked: A comfortable room for the money
Disliked: There was only one member of staff on reception the poor woman was run off her feet when there was a large number of check ins perhaps the manager could have got a second member of staff to help out during busy times

Liked: The location is good for a solo taveller. I was able to walk to the beach and it is surrounded with cool places to eat and drink.
Disliked: The rooms are very run down! It was boiling hot during my stay and there was no AC or mini fridge even a fan that I requested 3 times at the reception has never arrived! No service whatsoever! The window looks into walls n other windows! No view at all. This is a quiet miserable place to stay! I guess people come for the location and the prices are too high for such a place.

Wouldn't stay again
Liked: The bed was comfortable and clean. The good service on the reception desk made up for some of the hotel's inadequacies. There is plenty of parking at the hotel's own multi storey (entrance is to the left of the main hotel entrance) but be aware that it costs £10 a day extra on Friday and Saturday and £8 Sunday-Thursday. This will be added to your bill on check in. We didn't try breakfast at the hotel, but can recommend two places just outside - Hungry Oven does a great Full English for £4.95, and Cafe Dino has a great veggie breakfast with grilled halloumi. Location of the hotel is quite good - there are plenty of shops and food outlets nearby, and it's a 10-15 minute walk to the pier. Be sure to request a non-smoking room when booking and on check in.
Disliked: In terms of decor and the smoking policy, this hotel is like stepping into a time capsule. We had to ask to change rooms because the first stank of cigarette smoke, despite it supposedly being a "non-smoking" room. Luckily the second room smelt fine. However, there was someone's make up smeared on the shower curtain, and the bathroom towel rail couldn't take the weight of a towel. The toilet flush was only partially effective and you had to wait half an hour before you could flush it again. This was a shame, because with a bit of modernisation, this hotel could be very good.
